211 Racine

211 Racine is the place to make the connections that can help you find answers to life's questions, challenges, and to prevent problems from getting serious.  The 211 Racine community resource specialists will listen to your needs or questions, help you make informed decisions, and link you to the right community resources.  211 Racine is the one-stop shop for Racine County residents, with a database containing over 800 services available in and around Racine County. 211 Racine is a Community Partner of United Way of Racine County and the Racine County Human Services Department.

Bridge to Independence (BTI)

The BTI program, a service of the SAFE Passage Transitional Living program,  is available for youth ages 17-23 who are in need of support to live on their own. Youth are trained in areas such as job skills, money management, community resources and landlord/tenant relations.

Gang/Crime Diversion Task Force (G/CDTF)

The G/CDTF was formed through Racine Police Department Community Oriented Policing in an effort to educate youth about the dangers of street gangs. SAFE Haven brings a client centered perspective and a philosophy of self-determination. Class sizes vary and are held at the Thelma Orr Community and the  Wadewitz Community Policing Houses.

SAFE Passage Transitional Living Program

The SAFE Passage Transitional Living Program is a community-based facility for homeless young adults age 18 through 21 in need of housing, educational and life skills training. The SAFE Passage program staff consists of the SAFE Passage Program Coordinator, three Residential Case Managers and several part time Relief Staff. All residential clients receive health assessments by volunteer Registered Nurses. Service planning involves specific problem identification, goal setting, and the development of a written plan to attain these goals. Other agencies, programs and services are coordinated, as needed, as part of the service plan.

SAFE Streets Street Outreach Program (SOP)

SOP evolved from the Aggressive Truancy Abatement Program. SOP  seeks to reach youth on the streets. SOP distributes referral information, personal hygiene items, and ready-to-eat meals to youth on the streets, with a primary focus to persuade them to get off the streets and into safe shelter.  Personnel are available for program presentations.  The telephone number for SOP is 262-880-7677.

SAFE Haven Youth Shelter

The Youth Shelter program provides food, clothing, shelter, mediation and case management services to runaway and homeless youth age ten through seventeen. Youth can stay for up to two weeks. They must attend school and comply with other basic shelter rules. The shelter is open 24 hours a day. All services are free and confidential.
