help you make informed decisions, and link you to the right community

residents, with a database containing over 800 services available in
and around Racine County.

is a Community Partner of United Way of Racine County and the Racine
County Human Services Department. |

The BTI program, a service of the SAFE Passage Transitional
Living program, is available for youth ages 17-23 who are in
need of support to live on their own. Youth are trained in areas such as job
skills, money management, community resources and landlord/tenant relations. |

The G/CDTF was formed through Racine Police Department Community Oriented
Policing in an effort to educate youth about the dangers of street gangs.
SAFE Haven brings a client centered perspective and a philosophy of
self-determination. Class sizes vary and are held at the Thelma Orr Community
and the Wadewitz Community Policing Houses.

The SAFE Passage Transitional Living Program is a community-based facility
for homeless young adults age 18 through 21 in need of housing, educational and
life skills training. The SAFE Passage program staff consists of the SAFE
Passage Program Coordinator, three Residential Case Managers and several part
time Relief Staff. All residential clients receive health assessments by
volunteer Registered Nurses. Service planning involves specific problem
identification, goal setting, and the development of a written plan to attain
these goals. Other agencies, programs and services are coordinated, as needed,
as part of the service plan.

SOP evolved from the Aggressive Truancy Abatement Program.
SOP seeks to reach youth on the streets. SOP distributes referral information,
personal hygiene items, and ready-to-eat meals to youth on the streets, with a
primary focus to persuade them to get off the streets and into safe shelter.

The Youth Shelter program provides food, clothing, shelter, mediation and case
management services to runaway and homeless youth age ten through seventeen.
Youth can stay for up to two weeks. They must attend school and comply
with other basic shelter rules. The shelter is open 24 hours a day. All
services are free and confidential. |
